Rock-Pond Connect Release Information

Rock-Pond Connect 2.0.6  |  Released on August 24, 2011

Rock-Pond Connect is the powerhouse for the Rock-Pond Information Center. It ensures that you have the latest Rock-Pond Reports available at all times. It’s able to do this by maintaining communication with Rock-Pond’s centralized servers.

Rock-Pond Connect 2.0.6 is our latest release that brings stability improvements which ensure communication with Rock-Pond will never be lost, and reduces the need for manual intervention. The changes in this version include:

  • Enhanced logging - Rock-Pond Connect’s Windows Service will now log error messages to the Windows Event Log. This will help administrators troubleshoot Windows Service issues during the installation and configuration of Rock-Pond Connect should an error occur. In addition, more verbose logging to the Rock-Pond Connect log file has been added in order to communicate various application activities.
  • Self Healing Behavior – It’s not uncommon for network interruptions to occur, sometimes happening during the middle of an update, which can cause corrupt folders. Several features have been added to identify potential issues and self heal them so Rock-Pond, as well as you, don’t have to get involved. In the event that the service locks up, it’s smart enough to know and will restart itself. If a folder becomes corrupt due to a network connection issue, it will fix it right up.
  • Performance Optimizations – The Windows Service was slimmed down and simplified, meaning less resource consumption for you. In addition, internal components were upgraded that help improve network performance.

We encourage all users to upgrade to this latest release. Send an E-mail to support@rock-pond.com to find out what’s involved in upgrading. It’s quick and easy, we promise.
