CPR+, Ascend or HomecareNet software The MHA Business Solutions Center will be configured to point to the existing CPR+, Ascend or hcn SQL Server database.

Network Requirements

The MHA Business Solutions Center communicates via the Internet using two protocols:

  • TCP Port 80 (74.206.97.75) – The MHA Member Resource Center obtains its information via a standard HTTP connection.
  • TCP Port 3306 (74.206.97.71) – The Drug Recall Alert System and MHA GPO Reports are powered by a centralized secure database server.

All internet communication (except the MHA Member Resource Center) operates using highly secured HIPAA compliant SSL based encrypted connections. The MHA Business Solutions Center does not require that any inbound ports be opened on your network, only that outbound connections are enabled to the protocols it uses.

If your network secures outbound traffic such that the outbound TCP port 3306 is blocked, there are a couple of options:

  • You may configure your firewall to allow outbound connections to TCP port 3306 from the systems that use the MHA Business Solutions Center.
  • You may change the port that the database communicates on under the “Network” tab in the settings screen. You can choose for database communication to take place on ports 80 or 443 if the default port 3306 is blocked. It is recommended that you utilize the industry standard 3306 port for database communication. Ports 80 and 443 may not operate properly if you have a web proxy in place that filters web traffic as database traffic is not considered web traffic. This configuration parameter exists only as a work around if no other options are available to you.

Hardware Requirements

There are no specific hardware requirements for the use of MHA Business Solutions Center. The installation requires less than 100MB of disk space and operates under very low memory requirements. A modern desktop workstation or server will allow the MHA Business Solutions Center to operate normally.

Under some conditions, such as when running reports under the Rock-Pond Reports or Drug Recall Alert System modules, the application may utilize additional memory, depending on the amount of data retrieved by the reports and analysis functions.

In addition to the disk space required by the MHA Business Solutions Center, disk space will also be consumed when a user downloads a report in the MHA GPO Reports module, or exports a report to file.
