General
The only items that are put into Rock-Pond’s source control and database systems are your encrypted report files, and the documentation information about each report. No data from your reporting sources will ever leave your network.
No, you may document and deploy as many reports as you’d like.
Before you start the process of documenting your reports, you should setup the categories, job functions, and solutions that you will use to organize your reports. In the main menu bar, you can access these lists via the “List Maintenance” menu. Once you have completed this step, you can document your reports, assign them categories, and map them to one or more job functions and solutions. This will determine how your reports are presented to users inside the Rock-Pond Information Center.
No. If changes are needed for a report then Rock-Pond must make them or you must recreate the report and make the changes. We do this to keep a uniformity amongst our report collection for use with all of our customers.
Report Development
Yes, you must write your reports to utilize ODBC connections. This is the connection mechanism that the Rock-Pond Information Center uses when running reports.
The majority of Crystal Reports features are supported in the Rock-Pond Developer Studio and Rock-Pond Information Center. Please refer to the user manual for detailed information about supported features and important development guidelines that should be followed.
There are several variables in Crystal Reports that could potentially cause an error to occur, such as an invalid calculation in a formula, you may have not adhered to the development guidelines that are listed in the user manual, or there may be some other logic related error that is occurring. Refer to the user manual to ensure you have followed the proper guidelines. You should also make sure you report is running properly inside the Crystal Reports designer.
