No. Never. This is fundamental to the design of OBSIDIAN (Rock-Pond Reports, Rock-Pond Information Center, Rock-Pond Developer Studio and Rock-Pond Custom Reporting Services. Rock-Pond’s enterprise reporting platform is built based on the principle that providers do not want others having access to their patient data. They want tools that will enable them to get the information out in the format they need, when they need it. This tool must be secure, efficient, flexible and quickly provide information in the most useful format. OBSIDIAN provides all of this and more.
At a high level, here is how OBSIDIAN works:
- You have a software program (CPR+, HomecareNet or Ascend) that is installed on your network that stores all of the data entered into it in a SQL Server database. You control access to your network and this program.
- The Rock-Pond Information Center is installed on your network with a connection to this SQL Server database.
- Rock-Pond Reports are downloaded from our servers to your servers using a product you install on your servers called Rock-Pond Connect.
- The Rock-Pond Information Center has a connection to our servers for updates to reports and to log usage information.
- The Rock-Pond Developer Studio is installed on your server and provides the ability to configure the Rock-Pond Information Center to control who can access reports, add your own reports and to report on the usage logs stored on Rock-Pond servers.
- All interaction with your data is inside your firewall and on your servers. There is no access to your data outside of your network. Never.
- As part of the purchase of OBSIDIAN, Rock-Pond Solutions will sign a Business Associates agreement to cover cases where you email a report with patient data to us or request we remote in to your server to provide support or training services.
In summary, non-access to our customer’s data is fundamental to our business philosophy and product design.

In addition to our commitment to creating professional, powerful, and easy to read reports, we take many measures to ensure that they’re accurate and maintain accuracy as subsequent versions of your software system are released. This is done through our knowledge of each software system and our close relationships with the software vendors. As your software system changes through time, we review release notes and test the reports against these releases to ensure they continue to be accurate. In the event that a change is necessary, Rock-Pond can easily update the report and seamlessly deploy it to you using our Rock-Pond Connect product, which is a part of the Rock-Pond Information Center.
Our philosophy is that whenever possible, each Rock-Pond Report should balance to a “canned” report in your software system. In some cases, this may not be possible, so we work closely with our customers to ensure they are getting the data they need and that it’s accurate.
You can use our Rock-Pond Reports search feature to browse and search for reports that are available. Once there, simply select your Home Infusion application, and click search to see all available reports. You can narrow down your search by entering a keyword if you’d like. Click on a report code to see a brief description and report sample.
